Justin Rosado is a singer/songwriter native to Chicago, IL. From a very young age, he knew that he loved to perform and wanted to be on stage. Starting from school plays and concert bands he began to learn what it means to be a performer. In 2006, he and his brother, Nate Rosado, formed the band Perfect Dischord with a couple classmates and got to perform at Naper Days in Naperville, IL. While it was really only a few kids on a stage fumbling their way through angsty cover songs, it was the start of what would become a life devoted to music.

Through his time at both Northern Illinois University (NIU) and Columbia College Chicago (CCC), Justin fostered a relationship with many writers and musicians in the Chicagoland area collaborating on projects and playing in bands as much as possible. At NIU he was focused on studying jazz and ended up joining the NIU Jazz Lab Band and the Latin Jazz Ensemble playing trombone for both. After a year of studying only jazz, he wanted to expand his horizons and decided to transfer schools to CCC.
While at CCC, Justin participated in many school ensembles including Pop Rock ensemble, R&B ensemble, Chicago Vox, Breakaway, and had the privilege of sharing the stage with such artists as: Shawn Mullins, Benny Green, Wycliffe Gordon, and Lisa Fischer. Another ensemble at CCC that he participated in was Recording and Performance Ensemble which focused on forming a band, writing original material, recording it, and performing it. Though this ensemble, the band Momz was formed, in which he played keyboard and provided occasional backup vocals. After only a couple months together the band landed a spot in Biggest Mouth at the Metro, which is no small feat. After a successful performance there and other places, as well a studio session at the fantastic Rax Trax Studios, the band was selected to perform at CCC's Commencement Ceremonies, which were being held at the famous Chicago Theater that year. The bands last

performance together happened in grant park later that summer. As a capstone, Justin applied for CCC's Study Abroad program with Popakademie in Mannheim, Germany and was one of 2 students selected to go. He spent 5 months studying guitar, vocals, and songwriting before coming home to Chicago and finishing out his final semester. In Spring
2017 he graduated with Bachelor of Music in Contemporary, Urban, and Pop Music: Guitar from CCC. He now pursues his own writing and hopes to put out some personal recordings later this year.

Recently he celebrated 3 years as the bass player and backing vocalist for Jillian Somera and the Beta Option, they will be releasing their debut album in the next couple of months so stay tuned!
